Consistency key for new soccer season
Soccer is back in session this year, but a new year does not necessarily mean new strategies.
Last season, the girls’ Varsity team was successful, making it to state, and they’re hoping to continue that success after opening this season with a win.
This year, the plan is to let them keep working together as a team and try to build up a bond with all of the girls.
“It’s really not about doing things differently, because we’re really more about being consistent,” Coach Ray Krystal said. This team shows dedication and believes in hard work.
“Every year is a new year and that’s what’s exciting,” Coach Krystal said. “You get new opportunities for returning players stepping up to new roles and experiencing leadership, as well as new players.”
Every year new people from different schools or new freshmen join the soccer team.
“It’s fun as a team for the girls to see each other grow and develop better skills over the years together” Coach Krystal said.
Team captains haven’t been determined yet for this season. They are still deciding whether they will use official captains or not.
The girls are working very hard and are extremely supportive of one another throughout the season.
“We have some seniors who are working very hard and set a great example, not just for the team but for themselves as well,” Coach Krystal said.
They will certainly be consistent with their effort and hopefully their luck will be consistent too.
