As anime maintains its grip on audiences worldwide, people want a space to share and discuss their favorite past and current anime shows. While they can do that online with strangers, it’s not the same as having those conversations in person with friends or classmates.
“In conversation with students, this seemed like a club that was missing and pretty high on people’s lists,” CG counselor Mrs. Hailey Kelly said. This common interest later evolved into the newly founded anime club at CG.
“I want this club to be for all types of anime lovers,” said Mrs. Kelly, who admitted she is “a new fan of anime.
“I have a lot to learn, and I don’t know a ton about anime, but I’m learning as much as I can, as quickly as I can, so that I can be a part of the club.”
For anyone looking to join, the meetings are held every other Tuesday from 3:00-3:30 in D18, where members share stories and information about their favorite anime and eat snacks.
“it is an all-are-welcome club that has no sign-up required,” Mrs. Kelly said.
