Everybody wants to save money in today’s world. Money buys the things that you both need and want.
Unfortunately, most teenagers don’t have much money. They earn a small amount, and many spend it on things like video games, clothes or fast food.
If that sounds like you, the new club Invest CG shows you how you can be smart with your money when you get your hands on it.
“We will talk about stocks, bonds, commodities, and stuff that even I’m learning about, and I’m 50, so that’s kind of the whole basis of this club,” Mr. Garis, the club’s sponsor, said. “Students want to earn money so I think that’s how it affects the community of Cary Grove. You got a lot of kids involved and wanting to know how to be smart with their money.”
This club also helps people gain confidence in their ability to invest. Invest CG clearly explains what to do and they are very interactive, so if you have any questions, then the members will be happy to answer.
While Mr. Garis admits to learning along with the students in the club, that doesn’t mean that you can’t go there to get good advice.
“I’m more of a figurehead in this club,” he said. “One day, [seniors] Evan Glen and Ryan Boutwell came up to me and said,’ Hey, we want to start an investment Club.’ They and the new business teacher, Mr. Williams, are the ones that run the show.”
Mr. Garis responds said that anyone interested in the club should just show up so you can see what it’s about and start learning how to be smarter with your money.
If you have any questions about Invest CG, then either email Mr. Garis at [email protected] or show up to a meeting. This club takes place every other Friday from 7-7:25 a.m.
