C-G packs the track for ‘Mile for Miller’

Students and faculty came out on Saturday, Sept. 20, to perform a massive “Ice Bucket Challenge” to honor former teacher and coach Jim Miller and to raise money and awareness for ALS.

Enough people participated to nearly ring the track standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Before they dumped the ice water on their heads, they had to endure a more natural soaking by the thunderclouds overhead.

The poor weather and the tragic loss of Mr. Miller earlier in the year to ALS didn’t dampen the spirits of the participants, according to senior Kevin Budreck.

“It was not, by any means, a sad event,” Budreck said. “Everyone had a smile on their face  and was more than happy to be there. Definitely a great event to remember a great man.”
