White Sox mascot Southpaw surprised senior Sam Mack with an unannounced visit during 7th and 8th periods in D20 today. Mack and Southpaw have been pen pals for several years and the two met previously at a Sox game, but Mack was extremely excited for the visit. He interviewed Southpaw on topics as varied as the size of former Sox star Paul Konerko’s bedroom and Southpaw’s favorite episode of Full House. Southpaw brought Mack some gifts, including a Southpaw t-shirt for Mack to add to his collection, a hat, tickets to a Sox game, and — most notably — a bat signed by Konerko, Mack’s favorite player.
