In this dramatic film, what may have seemed unrealistic just a few years ago might be realistic today.

The plot follows a man by the name of Theodore who falls in love. He develops these feelings for Samantha, who is also his computer. During the time he falls for Samantha, he is also trying to get out of a previous relationship.

Throughout the movie, they spend time together just as any normal couple would. After a night with Samantha, Theodore discovers some interesting facts about her.

This is an edge-of-your-seat classic. The movie is worth going to see and may leave the watcher tongue-tied afterwards. Bringing a box of tissues might not be a bad idea.

Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson star together. For Phoenix, it is definitely one of his more emotional and thoughtful movies. Johansson plays the computer, and she has the voice of love and affection, similar to her role in He’s Just Not That Into You. Both actors do a sufficient job, although it is probably not one of their best roles.

In other romantic dramas, the endings are all similar. In Her, the ending is not one you would expect. The soundtrack and score however is very similar to other love films and give a type of feeling that makes the viewer feel hopeful and full of contentment.

Altogether, the film was good. It wasn’t completely outstanding but it was better than other movies. If you didn’t catch it in theaters, it is definitely worth renting from RedBox.
